But How Do I Get Started?

Contact a local homeless shelter or foster children organization to see what they need. Look to pre-schools who cater to at-risk children and develop gift lists for the children and the families whom they serve. Are the streets in your community littered with trash? Quit complaining and DO something about it. Create a signup and send the link to your friends. Get some exercise, share some laughs, and make your community look pristine again.

If you live in a cold climate, do an online search for warming shelters and see if you can organize a group of volunteers to help out. Is there a nearby neighborhood that could use some help with shoveling snow from driveways or sidewalks so that seniors can safely walk to their cars or bus stops? Create a signup and organize a group of pals or youth to do some shoveling…it’s cheaper than pilates and yoga! And the list goes on…get creative…you’ve got this!
